Hey Everybody,
This is my first time posting here. I am a regular on the Butthole Surfers forum. I am from NJ, and have been a diehard Magnet fan since "Spine of God". Just caught the Starland show a few months ago. Seeing DOPES TO INFINITY performed in it's entirety was amazing. Best Magnet show I have seen in 10 years!

Anyway, I do an internet radio show where I play Ween, Butthole Surfers, Monster Magnet, GG Allin, Peter Tosh, Misfits, Black Flag, Todd Snider, just to give you an idea of the variety of punk, psychedelic, alternative, and other forms of "outlaw" music that I play.

I do play unsigned bands so if you want to be on the show send audio files, band bio and tour dates to carbonicsmog@yahoo.com to be considered for on air play.. I do play most bands sent my way.

I have played in some shitty bands in my day, and about to start another; Lucky Bastard.. Working on a demo and I'll debut a new song...

CD's or Vinyl?

I personally love both, and I have this belief on which is better ...If I was going to listen to the first Black Sabbath album I would want to hear it on vinyl because that was the medium / standard of the time. If I was going to listen to Mastermind I would of coarse want to hear it on CD... eventhough I have the Vinyl, the CD that came with the Vinyl, and the CD by itself.

I am asking becasue I trying to decide on how I should release the next Acid FM album, will it be on CD? Or should I do vinyl w/ free MP3 downloads? I am curious what anyone would have to say about this.

No one was speaking of Austin Psych Fest, but speaking of Austin Psych Fest, I just returned from my annual trip, for the fourth year in a row … it's a 3+ day, 65+ band party hosted and pulled off by The Black Angels ...

Too many highlights to detail here … The Entrance Band, The Black Angels, Psychic Ills, Quest for Fire, Quilt, New Fumes, Bombino, Brooklyn Raga Association, Acid Baby Jesus, Feeding People, BJM, The FUCKING Golden Dawn, 'fer chrissakes … just an unreal line-up and about the most fun I've had in my life.

Been without internet for awhile now and just got it on!

Moved into my first apartment with my girlfriend, Lisa. I say her name because some of you got the chance to meet her before.

All is well and from the looks of it, at the top of this post is a preview of, for now, 4 songs from my next musical effort.

"Hell Loosened Up" has a heavy stoner riff that relates to Kyuss related shit.

Hey everyone!!

It made me curious... how do you all write songs? How do you note down the music?

I have a composer friend who always uses the 5 lined paper and indicates every single note in every single chord for every instrument and voice (soprano, alto, tenor, bass) - this is the method I was taught in college... then there's my buddy who plays in local heavy metal bands, just got picked up by a label, and can't even read 5 lined music let alone write it out that way - yet is still an accomplished songwriter... I had a vocal coach once stress to...

Hey all... just checkin' in... been a while, lot's of stuff to read, catch up on... not enough time to respond to everything/everyone I'd like to so decided to just say, "howdy!" in a new thread...

why I'm really here... I'm itching for something new... new music with that familiar, yet secret spice I may be addicted to (isn't itching a sign of withdrawal?)... I had a vague sense that there would be news of a new album on the horizon here... the source of my silly notions is a mystery, still I was surprised to not find what I expected...

perhaps it's time for me to create, use my own senses to produce that aroma I so much desire... it will have a new flavor, reminiscent of all my favorite dishes...

like my favorite karaoke host so often says, "If you're not hearing what you want, sign up to sing it... or ask perpetua, she takes requests"... if I'm not getting what I want, maybe it means I need to make it... sign up to sing/create it myself, no more...

As Iv'e stated I have stayed clear of the forum since last year..I'm one of those types that cant be arsed with conflict or negativity.

Anyway again cos I've been out of the loop you guys probably know about this.....I sat down in the dark, lysergically intoxicated and watched the film "THIS IS NOT A MOVIE".....F###ing great!! 5 minutes in the main charcter is sitting with a tv on his head as we are blessed with the sound of "Look To Your Orb"......I mean a good chunk...and LOUD. Then later in the movie "BABY GOTTERDAMERUNG".....intact!! And loud!

The Soundtrack credits go to Slash.....but Magnets music ice the cake. Also set in Vegas where Dave conjured up the masterpiece album "God Says No".

I urge you to watch this film...you'll find it......it rates with Alterd States, Brainstorm, Braindead (Not the Peter Jackson one). The Jacket........f##ck it's hard to box. If you like head films...philosophical, existential...
