I use a Marshall JCM 900 head, and for a lead boost I use a tech 21 california (basically a mesa boogie emulator but through the head it just sounds like awesome fuzz). I also use the dirty channel on the amp occasionally. I had a boss DD-3 for a while before I got the amp, but it just didnt sound right, even through the effects loop, so I sold it. So basically does anyone know what is a good delay that sounds well on high-gain/fuzz settings? It doesnt have to be particularly complicated or have a huge range of delay time or anything like that. Check out a DL4 or a Memory Man. I know a lot of people run time based effects through the effects loop, but I prefer running all but EQ through the front. Have you tried that? East Bay Ray used to run his Delay before distortion. Each repeat is cleaner that the one before it. You can kind of hear it on Police Truck. If you like multi-effects, I'd pick up a M13. It is absolutely the most bad ass pedal I've ever seen. Run the effects in any order with multiple types of effects. I think it completely kills. -Jesus H Christ, Esq. Posts: 5806 (10/26/09 11:35 AM) Bastard of The Universe Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts	The DD3 was allright on my old amp and when I use to rehearse and play live with my old band (using tube amps) but it just doesnt cut it with the valve and the loudness and tone of how I do things now. It muddied the sound too much, and I didnt really notice much of a difference putting it through the effects loop or through the front. That Line 6 looks a bit complicated and also maybe more than I actually need. However a couple of other people have already suggested I look into a Memory Man aswell, so that appears like it may be the forerunner at the moment. I dunno if I need the Hazari one, although I guess I can just try them all over here. I do have an old Zoom 2100 multi-effects unit but it's just that, very old and worn out, some buttons dont press, and it doesnt even work properly with my amp. These days I just use it to plug into my computer occasionally and also it has a tuner on it. I dont think I want to invest in a new one either - I already have a wah and tbh I wouldnt use anything else except maybe an octaver. Plus the ones these days are quite complicated things that I cant be arsed to learn how to use. The memory man deluxe comes with vibrato and chorus anyway. Cheers man! N.H. Music

Having to change my setup and settings a bit to make it sound good, but gives some lovely warm tones - I definitely prefer the slapback sound like something out of an early zz top record to the long delay sounds though.
