Letting someone play your music is one thing, but putting yourself on an advert for fucking car insurance... thats another matter. That particular car insurance compnay won't even insure musicians!!! I repeat - fuck Iggy Pop. Did I mention that Alice Cooper is advertising Sony Bravia TV sets? Fuck Alice Cooper!

Yeah Alice was playing golf in an insurance advert years ago.
I would rather get a fucking job than parade myself around pretending I believe in some random product. I mean car insurance? That was Iggy fucking Pop! Iggy for fucks sake. Was it really so bad? I would rather see some tired old bullshit reunion tour... (hang on a sec), a cash-in album, even a fucking reality TV show appearance instead of a TV advert. Advertising is evil, just a way of brainwashing morons and pissing me off in the process.

It always makes me chuckle when the commercial for the cruise line with "Lust For Life" comes on.

Sorry Slap, didnt realize he was actually in the commercial and not simply lending his artistic creations (for a fee of course) to some advertisers. Still
though, whats really so evil about a guy doing a commercial? Maybe he wasnt even paid (haha) but just wanted to see his Shar-pei-like face on TV.

Was watching South Park last night and a Clutch song was playing for a zombie kill'em game.
Led Zep's Cadillac commercial a couple of years ago was a big bummer. I thought they sold out. Of course, you gotta remember that all those baby boomers who grew up in the 60's and 70's are now advertising executives. They are using music that they enjoyed as a youth to promote their product. Ha ha, no it was the act of advertising more than the context... but car insurance is particularly horrible. I worked for an insurance company for a while
doing support, they are evil (not the one Iggy is advertising by the way)

I kinda like hearing good shit on commercials. I guess it ruins some peoples expectations of what is sacred with reference to art and shit but it doesn't bug me. And I'm usually easily annoyed.
