I had a CT scan yesterday and was not expecting any results until next week but my oncologist phoned me earlier today which worried me!
It was good and bad news (the good vastly outweighing the bad!). The good news is that the scan shows that the chemo is shrinking my tumours and is proving effective so far! I am very happy! Will find out exactly how much they have shrunk at the meeting next week when I was expecting to get my results so I can look at the images etc.
The bad news is they also found a pulmonary embolism (blood clot) in my left lung. It is small so it isn't anything to be alarmed about, but I have had to start treatment for it today which is going to be 4 weeks of daily heparin injections into my stomach which are self-administered.
Overall it has been a damn good day. It is also the last day of chemo in my 4th cycle so I am going to celebrate the results with a few drinks and one of my new CDs later!
