Prog-rock icon, vocalist and bassist John Wetton passed away from cancer a few days ago at 67 years of age. A true journeyman of the British rock scene, he played with many bands: Family, Mogul Thrash, Uriah Heep, Roxy Music, U.K., and of course Asia.

For me his groundbreaking tenure with King Crimson ('72-'75) marked the greatest era of that band. The albums Larks' Tongues in Aspic, Starless and Bible Black, and Red (along with the huge amount of live material from that line-up) represent some of the best and most challenging rock ever recorded.

Rest well sir. Thank you for your art.
